Four of her siblings are from her previous marriage to Taylor's dad. They were originally of Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria in the year she turned six years old. Taylor-Joy claims that the move to London was traumatic and that she didn't take the time to learn English so that she could avoid returning to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she was required to attend after switching from Northlands. Then she enrolled in Queen's Gate School and studied ballet while acting in the school's productions. When she was 16 she dropped out of school in order to pursue a full-time career in acting. At a very young age, Taylor-Joy was aware of her desire to be an actor and her dream came true when she was approached for a modeling gig by Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
